Truth, the only remedy; forgiveness, the only hope …

Truth, the only remedy; forgiveness, the only hope …

Where do you find any good in justifying the perverse or in distorting the truth? How do you give true comfort by condoning evil, or how do you make a man’s plight less burdensome by pretending to agree? Pacification is not a remedy nor is consent a cure. Faith in all things mortal is troublesome and foolish. To rely upon man for your deliverance is shaky and unpredictable, only a fool will think himself more high and noble than he really is or could ever hope to be. True compassion is not bitter or pretentious; it does not seek to harm or to gain; its only motive is to uplift and to enhance. Evil seeks to justify itself at the cost of its prey. In it there is no thought of compassion or kindness, there is no consideration or concern of one for another. It is not caring but vicious and unrelenting. Immorality feeds upon the innocence of the young and the apathy of the unconcerned; its true desire is not to satisfy but to be self-satisfied by its perversion and deceit. In sins cunning aggressiveness it seeks to hide its true purpose while gaining strength and devastation through its deception and its beguiling promise to satisfy and appease. There is no calm or tranquility gained through incessant lust; it has no desire or passion to be done away with or to be forgotten. Its only end is obtained by true repentance and forgiveness. In truth, the constant ravings of the defiant soul are not aimed toward ignorant, impotent man, but are against God and His perpetual foe Satan. Man is only a pawn being used in the war between good and evil; his only cause or purpose is to choose what is holy or to be destroyed. Man’s only chance for deliverance is the eternal truth and freedom of a righteous, holy God (John 8:32). How insignificant are the proud, how unimportant the unruly. Their clamor will draw no true attention; their errant cause will take them unto their unfortunate end.

Everything in life has a price or a pattern it must follow for it to be considered substantial or just. The determination or spirit of man is what controls or directs him; he will be led by what his heart is telling him to do. Physical wealth or poverty does not make you rich or poor. Your true foundation or spiritual state is determined by the moral dictates or condition of your heart. You cannot achieve total victory by holding on to those things deemed deceptive or immoral. Immorality has nothing good to offer and accepting it as pleasant or profitable will only leave you empty and wanting. Doing what is sinful or evil will not leave you with a pleasant surprise. Expecting to receive what is good will only come from a heart that is loving and pure, not hateful and pretentious. (Read Psalm 19:7-14). If you do not secure His total favor, how do you ever expect to succeed? Reservation, persistent hesitation, or a reluctance to trust in God’s direction will put many of God’s blessings on hold. When I will not turn from my haughtiness and pride, how can I expect to gain the necessary blessings of a righteous God? If by my actions I show uncertainty and doubt, how am I to truly know Him and all that He has promised to do? Full dependence is needed for me to gain His eternal favor; and, when I am unwilling to rely upon Him, where do I gain the right to expect the many good things He has promised? Disobedience and rebellion will not be gainfully rewarded, and if I am to obtain His approval, I must repent.
