“The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much” (James 5:16). Persistence and prayer go hand in hand; one without the other will accomplish very little. While God wants to see our faith and sincerity, constant prayer places hope in the heart of the believer and causes one to understand and to know the true redeeming power of the One they serve. A Christian that does not pray is a Christian that does not care. Through the power of persistent prayer, the impossibilities of life are eliminated as the blessings are made to abound. With understanding comes admiration and respect. Talking to your Heavenly Father is the only way that you will truly get to know Him; and, without a personal relationship with Him, your life will be empty and unproductive. Prayer is taking one’s desires and cares and placing them at the feet of Almighty God. An effectual prayer is spoken from the heart; its concerning passion is felt within the body, soul and spirit. Crying out to God will always accomplish an outcome or end far greater than the understanding or wisdom of man; God alone knows what is expected and needed. The emptiness and yearning of the heart can only be filled by its Creator; true sincerity will always end in an intercessory prayer to God, our Heavenly Father.
