God is a gracious God: a God of mercy and a God who shares His abundance with His obedient children. One of the most notable gifts that God wants to give us is the gift of reality or the gift of the truth. If we do not know the true reality of God’s existence, His purpose and His intent, how can we know where to place our confidence and our loyalty? “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” (John 8:32). If we are to be truly free in this life and in the life to come we must be free from the bondage of doubt and deception. “If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed” (John 8:36). To disembark at the proper place or position in life, all the facts or truth concerning it must be known. If we are to arrive at that place we wish to arrive, we must be made aware of what is true and uncontaminated. We must follow Jesus the only preserver and protector of our souls. That is why Satan the swindler is so full of deceit and lies. It is his intent to keep us in the dark about the truth of God’s Word and will for our lives. The self-centered individual is taken in by the deceit of the devil; and, without the truth, will be led astray. How could you ever want to serve anyone that wants to destroy you and take you to that place known as hell?
Jesus said that He was the way, the truth and the life (John 14:6). Without Him the gift of eternal life would not be a possibility, it would not exist. The only way that we are made aware of this immutable fact is by studying His Word. When you see the true importance or reality of knowing the truth, how could you ever place the material things of the world above what is to be considered righteous and holy? The sinner says that righteous and holy living will cause you to sacrifice your pleasure and fun. In their heart of hearts they believe that the fulfillment of life can only be gained by delving into those things that are fleshly and physically satisfying. In their mind satisfaction is all about personal gain and to profit you must obtain those things that are personally pleasing and sensually gratifying. Sin has no intent or desire of warning its captive and as the way grows darker and more maligned there is only that expectation of wicked desire there to torment and abuse. In the truth of God’s Word the true reality of life, the truth will give you the only factual reason for living. The difficulties and problems of life are brought about by our refusal to believe the truth of God or our sin. If we are to have His eternal forgiveness we must repent, we must give Him our devotion and allow Him to take us to that place where only He can abide. GLH My Own Melody, LLC
