God’s Amazing Gift, Unconditional Love…

We should never underestimate the awesome power and love of God. I am forever amazed at God’s ability to forgive. Man has put God in a place of irrelevance; and, in his arrogance and pride, he would make God to become his enemy. God will not be scorned; and, if we are to obtain the salvation that only He can give, we must willingly seek His forgiveness. When I see the reckless and oft-times total lack of regard for Him, the blasphemy and the crude expressions of obscenity that are forever being placed upon Him, I am disgusted. I wonder why He has chosen to permit such an awful display of insolence, but I am soon drawn back into the presence of His love and complete forgiveness.  I am left with a tear in my eye and a soft word of thanksgiving upon my tongue. I know that if it were not for God’s deep desire to forgive, I would not possess the hope that has been afforded me. Every thing can be explained in this short but candid verse, “He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love” (1 John 4-8).

It is impossible for me, being human, to totally understand the love of God. The human mind is simple and vain; it can never totally comprehend someone as awesome and awe-inspiring as God.  Not being able to totally understand or to express all that God is does not negate His importance or exclude His presence in my life. I know that without Him I can never be the person that I should be or the person I want to become. His affection for me gives me a desire to share and to show compassion to those in need of His ever-abiding love. Wanting to express His total goodness unto others is somehow perplexing, and I am frustrated by my lack of dexterity. How do you make them understand? How do you make them listen?  I have come to the conclusion that I cannot guarantee understanding, and I can never force anyone to listen. My only purpose, with the help of a loving God, is to express, to my best ability, the love that He has shown me. It is not my job to be critical or to criticize; we have all fallen short of God’s glory. There is no one that is more virtuous than another, and there is no one that is without sin. We are all in profound need of God’s forgiveness, and we have all been blessed by His desire and ability to forgive.     My Own Melody, LLC  2006 – 2016  Vision Graphics, LLHforgive-them
