Stubbornness and pride are the qualities of sinful man. To gain eternal glory, man cannot reach out to man; all that we do must be an extension of God and His power and ability to save. I can only lift you to your feet while God can lift you all the way into Heaven. I can testify of God’s mercy and His grace, it is God that must bring them into play. I can point you to the cross; it is what He did there that is important and necessary. All of life, its wants and its many needs, are found in God and His power and might. As I think about the past, I am reminded of the saying, “every road leads home”. As I think about God and the truth of His Word, I can say with assurance that “every truth leads to God” and His abundant will for my life. Learning to rely upon Him is the only place that I will find complete peace and rest.
Who is God? There is nothing more secure; there is nothing more beneficial. Life to man is very complex, in the love of God it is made rewarding and simple. It is impossible to solve spiritual problems with worldly solutions, while so many of life’s problems must be solved by spiritual means. Maturity or growth is about one’s ability to resist temptation when to give in would be the simplest and in many cases, the most sought after. You will never be tempted with those things that you detest or do not want to do. Temptations will attack our weakest and most vulnerable attributes. You cannot be tempted to do good. Admonishment or encouraging one to do good will never cause them to err; it cannot be considered self-serving or sinful.
