If you have a problem, you need to pray about it. Prayer is an extension of your faith and as you pray you will grow closer to God. God is the one who holds all the answers; He is the one who wants to share of His bounty and of His redeeming love. You will never grow spiritually if you never pray; spiritual growth or maturity and praying go hand in hand. A discerning individual never forgets to pray or finds excuses not to pray. Being insecure or embarrassed about talking to God, whether in public or in private, is assurance of ones lack of faith and weakness. Boldness in the face of triumph shows nothing more than ones ability to rejoice, while showing boldness when the battle is in doubt shows ones true courage and sheer determination. The eternal light of your soul is Jesus and not wanting to share with Him or His Father is evidence or lack of spiritual understanding or maturity. If you do not want to draw closer to God or to grow spiritually, you will never become the dynamic, all-inspiring individual you should strive to become. That is not saying you should endeavor to become pompous or over-bearing, but that you should want to “grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ” (2 Peter 3:18).
The power of God is transferred as we meditate upon Him, either through prayer or the reading of His Word. True potential comes only from God; and, without His presence and help you will live a life that is uneventful and ordinary, uneventful in the sense that you will never accomplish anything that is life-giving or eternal. God does use the world and circumstances to accomplish His divine purpose, but allowing yourself to be used of Him is far more rewarding than being used through necessity or command.
The gifts of God are so much more beneficial than the gifts of this world, and to substitute or deny God’s gift of eternal life for the meager gifts of a defiant, evil world, is nothing more than spiritual suicide. There is no hope outside the amazing love of God. Everything that I own was given to me by the grace of Almighty God, and if I am not willing to thank and praise Him, I become nothing more that an ingrate and a vagabond. There is one common link that runs throughout all humanity, GOD. There is one common fear there is one common hope or dream. I have always had potential, but life itself is the creator of potential. There is a spot of gold inside of everyone and we are the miners. We dig to uncover our potential but God must purify and refine it. GLH
