Y O U, a word that describes the total sum of whom and what you are. YOU can be profound or ordinary. YOU can be amazingly complex or basically simple. No matter what Y O U happens to be, YOU are important and unique. The term, YOU, can be made up of one, just you alone; or you and the selfish, self-seeking part of you; or it will be made up of many parts: YOU and your personal beliefs and convictions; YOU and your ability and desire to love and to be useful; YOU and your personal, all-powerful, all-loving God. God must become an inseparable part of you if you are to be successful. I cannot give away something that I do not possess; before I can give something away I must possess or own it. Many times as I write I feel that I am on a journey. I write things as God gives them to me and expect Him to explain them and to fill in the blanks. Much of what I write, to me, is illegible or incoherent. I do not write to express what I feel, but what I know He is telling me to write. Of the little I have learned and know, I know that God is who He says He is and that He will do all the many things He has promised to do. Accepting God at His Word is not always easy and simple, while trusting in His ability to meet your needs can be somewhat intimidating and frightening. God does not create one thing to become another as what is passionately described as evolution. To consider evolution as something that happens without God directing it or that occurs without fulfilling a particular need or purpose fits into the consistent realm of impossibility. To say that some things evolve does not mean that all things must evolve. To suggest that God is limited in some form or fashion is ludicrous. God is a personal God and He will meet with His children on a personal level. God is able to make reason out of confusion and sanity out of madness. When you consciously consider who God is, you soon realize His unmatchable power and splendor. I cannot tell the world who God is; it is He that must tell the world. I cannot explain His right of permanent status and nobility; it is He that must show the world. The only thing I can do is to make myself available and God must do the rest. You will never accept God and all His many promises until you see just how remarkable and merciful He really is. One of the biggest faults or failings of man is his inability and refusal to accept the truth. Man considers himself to be logical and realistic when, in so many instances, he is irrational and foolish. So many of the failures of life are when we try to accomplish things without God’s direction or approval. We need God and His direction in everything that we do and to show our arrogance and pride will not accomplish anything practical or good. So much of life is illusive in that we cannot obtain His blessings without trusting in His Word, we will not trust in His Word without first obtaining His promises.
What is the total importance and significance of God choosing to meet our needs instead of our wants? Many people are put out and distraught because their wants are not being met. But wants are only temporal; they change with each passing fancy, and they are not needed for us to survive. Wants are only superficial while our needs are essential.
No one goes around doing good or evil without a strong desire compelling or motivating them. Whether it is temptation to sin or being compelled to do good, all motivation is external and comes from an external entity or source. If God is not allowed to be that One that motivates us, then I am sure that our lives will be lived for a selfish purpose. We will not be the perfect example that He intends for us to be. GLH
