HEAVEN, THE HOME OF THE BLESSED…

As I write, even now I am being made more aware of the necessity or importance of God.   For our example, let us say that the existence of God is not in doubt but he has not provided us a future home called Heaven.  Let us say that He was not willing to die for all men.  We did not have that hope that He has provided us known as Heaven, Heaven, the very best of it all, the reward or future home of all the faithful.  If Heaven did not exist, in what would we base our reason or purpose? If there were not a Heaven, then where would we go when we die?  Without Heaven, in what future would we place our hope and our trust?   If there is a God, there is a Heaven, and if there is a Heaven, there is a God.  Why do we love God?  Is it because He is God or is it because that He has loved us and has given Himself for us?  A god without love is still a god, but of what practical value is he?  If God did not love us, we as individuals would still be needy, but would we turn to him for assistance?  To work for someone without hope of payment or reward is to be considered a slave; we would be in bondage.  Why do we love God, it is because of our gratitude but it is also because of our dependency.    Even though we say that we love him while we are here on earth, I am sure that we will love him even more when we see him in Heaven.   God is our creator and he has created us in his own image.  He has given us the capacity to love and to want and care for those things that make up his character.   His character is one of giving.  If we are to be like him than we will want to give.  God so loved that he gave but why did he give?  The Bible says the he yearned for our companionship; He wanted to be our friend.   Does that mean that God wanted to obtain our love?   What could a God who had everything hope to receive?  Love is a giving and receiving term, it is in receiving as well as giving that we become unified, it is how we learn to depend upon each other.   The Bible says that we should have love one for another.   To give love and not to receive love gives cause for a broken heart.  To give love and not receive love can build walls of isolation and cause one to become despondent.   The receiving of love only fuels the fervor of giving more.   In a true loving relationship, the focus is on the giving while the receiving will take care of itself.   True love is always an anxious thought of giving to enrich the life of the intended.   What happens when that gift is refused?  God has given his love unto all men but he has made it contingent upon your willingness to receive.   He has chosen not to force or make you love him but he has elected to allow you freedom of choice.  His intention is to make his affection so attractive, so necessary that you will not refuse his forgiveness.  GLH    www.myownmelodyllc.com
